You previously trusted Pressed & Fresh to handle your laundry needs. Today, I am stepping away from the studio for a moment to share something much more personal—the story of why this business was actually created.

After 18 years in Public Service roles, I wanted to continue providing a service which supported people and made a difference, but with a business model that helped provide more quality time for my family. Pressed & Fresh was born out of a desire to give you back your weekends, while giving me the flexibility to support my new family dynamic as an adoptive father.

Through the wonderful work of St David’s Children Society, my husband and I were united with our son.

I will always be candid about this: adoption is a hard and grueling process. In our experience, it often leads to placement with a challenging child with complex needs. There have been very tough days, but SDCS didn't just hand us a file and wave goodbye; they have been on hand to provide the exact support we have needed to succeed as a family. Without them, we may never have found each other.

I am driven by providing exceptional service, but also by giving back. In that spirit, I am proud to say that to date I have raised over £1,800 to support this wonderful cause—through quiz nights, sponsored walks, and collecting donations alongside laundry bookings. Furthermore, every single tip left by my customers is donated directly to the agency.

But it’s not enough. There are still children waiting for loving homes, and people from all walks of life able to be united with them. There are still children urgently needing play therapy and additional trauma support.

Today, I am asking if you can help, by making a donation big or small. The money raised will contribute directly to St David's work in supporting adopted children and their families. Your generosity truly makes a difference to the care they can provide, especially in supporting families post-adoption who may come back to them at any time for further guidance, support, or advocacy.
